(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) – Recent deaths of road workers along Alabama highways are a sober reminder that there is little room for error when driving through a work zone. A new campaign from the Alabama Department of Transportation promotes work zone safety while making drivers aware of recent changes to the state’s construction zone law.
Jackson County’s Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and American Legion will be hosting two events on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2021. The first will be the wreath laying ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park of Jackson County. Following this ceremony, a coffee reception will be held next door to the park in the Veterans Hall at 9:45 a.m.

No one should ever blame a victim for what they have experienced. No person starts a relationship or goes on a date thinking that the person with them will ever intentionally hurt them. If they thought this, they would never go out with them again. CSNA has been educating the public regarding victim blaming and ways to avoid it for years, but victims are still being held accountable for what is being done to them. Our community needs to support and believe survivors.
