Mr. James “Junior” Lawson Byrd, 81 of Scottsboro, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Settles officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Byrd was a member of Larkinsville Baptist Church. He loved his family and everyone and would give you the shirt off his back. He was the owner and operator of Byrd Pawn Shop for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Byrd; daughters, Karen (Brian) Storey, Carla (Roy) Bates; brother, Robert (Paulette) Byrd; sisters, Barbara (Thomas) Perkins, Mary (Dwight) Chambers, Sue (Al) Parker, Brenda Eyssen; granddaughter, Ashlynn (Cameron) Hardee; great-grandchildren, Cam Hardee, Parker Hardee; a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Byrd; parents, Claude and Mary Byrd; stepdaughter, Melissa Byrd; sister, Juanita Byrd; brother, Bobby Byrd.
