Mrs. Betty Jo Grider Thomas, 92, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Rudder Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Thomas officiating. Interment followed at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Tal Thomas; daughters, Cathy (Michael) Mitchell, Janice (John) Walters; grandchildren, Andrew (Erika) Walters, Mary (Anthony) Hawkins) Walters, Sara (Chase) Bolt; great-grandchildren, Asher Bolt, Logan Bolt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sophia Grider; brothers, Rorex Grider, Tom Grider, Mack Grider, Bud Grider, Warnie Grider; sisters, Audie Phillips, Mary Raulston, Kate Grider, Annie Grider; grandsons, Cody Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in honor of Mrs. Betty Jo Thomas to the IMPACT Learning Center, 23123 John T. Reid Parkway, Scottsboro, Ala. 35768 or to FUMC The Children’s Place, 1105 South Broad Street, Scottsboro, Ala. 35768.
