Mr. James Albert Lawhorne, Sr., 85 of Scottsboro, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. No services are planned at this time.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the Marines, he served in the United States Army National Guard of Alabama. After retiring from TVA, he later went into nursing school so he could take care of his mother. He donated a kidney to his brother and was a loving son and father. He wrote a letter to his sons that read, “Dear Mo and Jack, My soul is with Jesus. If you will trust and believe in Jesus, I will see you again soon. All my love, Yo Pappy.”
He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his son, James (Julia) Lawhorne, Jr. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Lawhorne.
