Ernest Lee Matthews went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2022 surrounded by his family. Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Rudder Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Winninger officiating. Interment followed at Box’s Cove Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Florence Clements; daughters, Michelle (Keith) Morris, Heather (Robbie) Kyzar; mother of his daughters, Goldie Matthews; sisters, Lillian (Ray) Mcgeehee, Lisa (Darryl) Bohannon, Donna Reed, Judy Young, Sue (Kermit) Higgins; brother, Paul (Cynthia) Clements; business partner and brother, Billy (Pam) Gullatt; grandchildren, Kimberlee Morris, Elijah Kyzar, Angel Kyzar; great-grandchildren, Autumn Morris, Amora Clark, Alexander Neeley, Luna Kyzar; special friend, Heather Johnson; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Matthews; sister, Stella Gullatt; brother, R.B. Matthews; stepfather, Andrew Clements; several aunts, uncles, nice, nephews and cousins; best friend, Charles Wininger.
