James Allison Atchley, II finished his course here on this earth early Tuesday, September 20, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at his home. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Oak Grove Holiness Church with Bro. Nicky Willmon and Bro. Alton Willmon officiating. Burial followed in Gunter Mountain Memory Gardens.
Jamey was born in old Guntersville Hospital on Wednesday, March 11, 1964 to James and Rachel Atchley and attended Kate Duncan DAR High. He spent the majority of his life living and raising his family in Swearengin. A man of faith, he spent the last 41 years living for and loving the Lord. He was a faithful, loving and beloved member of the Oak Grove Holiness church. He also enjoyed fishing, and especially, spending time with his family and friends. He truly fought the good fight and kept the faith.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gayla Campbell; children; Erin Atchley, Crissey (Martin) Smith; granddaughters, Callie and Josie; siblings, Jetta (Derrell) Shadden, Mark (Christa) Atchley; in-laws, Ronald (Lisa) Campbell; mother-in-law, Loretta Campbell; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Denelda and Jerry Hopper; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Jewel Campbell.
