On Sunday, September 4, 2022, Floyd Monroe Mason, 70 of Swearengin, won his race on this earth. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Grant Memorial Chapel with burial following in Gunter Mountain Memory Gardens.

He was born on Thursday, June 12, 1952 to Rayford and Myrtle Mason. Floyd was a longtime and much-loved member of Oak Grove Holiness Church near his home in Swearengin.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Mason; sons, Nickey (Lindsey) Mason, Mickey Mason, Robbie Mason; grandchildren, Marcus (Heather) Pippin, Macy Mason, Matthew Mason, Tanner Mason, Saylor Mason, Avery Mason, Kendal Mason; great-grandchildren, McKenna Pippin, Louella Pippin; brothers, Cecil (Connie) Mason, Jerry (Vanessa) Mason, Eugene (Jackie) Mason; many nieces and nephews; a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sisters, Delilah Baker, Debra Clark; brother, Donald Mason; grandparents, George and Martha Mason.
