Raymond Alvis Chamlee, 95, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 in Cape Coral, Florida with family by his side. Graveside services were held on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Unity Cemetery.

He was born on Tuesday, December 28, 1926 in DeKalb, Alabama to Wilburn Colunbus and Nettie Chamlee. Raymond was a veteran and served in Japan in WWII. He worked at General Motors in Detroit and Livonia, Michigan for 32 years. Following retirement, he moved to Alabama, North Carolina and Florida. He was a man of faith who enjoyed attending church and spending time with his family. He could be found climbing ladders and doing yard work into his 90s and rode his stationary bike until age 94.

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Francis Chamlee; children, Bob Chamlee, Theresa (Bill) Jarosz, David Chamlee, Darlene (Ken) Smith; grandchildren, Bobby Chamlee, Chad (Destinee) Chamlee, Scott (Yanesa) Chamlee, Kendra Smith, Laney Smith; six great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; two sisters; his remaining sister, Christine Lance, joined him in heaven three days after his passing.
