Berta Russell Taylor, 103 of Birmingham and formerly of Scottsboro and Section, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Graveside services were held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Section United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was retired from the Jackson County school system where she taught English and reading for many years. She was also a member of Section United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her grandchildren, April (Josh) Spencer, Max (Kelly) Taylor; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Taylor; son, Jerry Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Section United Methodist Church.
