Dorothy Bevel Campbell, 85, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 surrounded by family. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Grant Memorial Chapel with burial following in Free Home Cemetery.

She was born on Wednesday, march 17, 1937 in the Butler’s Mill community and married her high school sweetheart, Claude, when she was 18; they were married for 67 years. One of her favorite past-times was golfing, and she won many tournaments alongside her best friend, Geneva. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was most happy when she was at church as she was a devoted member of Hampton Cove Church of Christ. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be missed by many. The family will always be grateful to Dr. Michael Campbell for his compassion and management of Dorothy’s overall healthcare. Special thanks to her caregivers, Katrina Coleman and Olga Bailey, for their most loving care and support.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, LaBronn (Cathy) Campbell, Tony (JoJo) Campbell, Alan (Michelle) Campbell; grandchildren, Mark Campbell, Shane (Brooke) Campbell, Amery (Forrest) Freeman, Halea (Joe) Vonderheide, Lindsey Dardin, Conway (Casey) Campbell, Shelby (Josh) Campbell; great-grandchildren, Abby and Stella Campbell, Jack Buchanan, Bryce and Jeanne McGahey, August Campbell; sisters, Sandra (Dough) Ray, Mary Francis Bevill; brother, Rick (Monica) Bevel; nephew, Dr. Michael (Lisa) Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Campbell; parents, Lela and Ted Bevel; brothers, Donald Bevel, O.G. Bevel.
