Grace Verbina Smith Foster, 79 of Swearengin, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Graveside services were held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at New Prospect Cemetery.

She was born in 1943 in Florida and married her teenage sweetheart, James Alton. There were married for 60 years until he passed. They went on to have four children, nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Mechelle (Jeff) Gorham, Lisa Goins, Gracie (Danny) Phillips; brother, Patrick Smith. She was preceded in death by her son, James Foster; husband, James Foster.
