Mrs. Barbara Ellen Matthews, born in Robert Lee, Texas on Saturday, May 11, 1957, passed from this earthly life on Monday, May 30, 2022 in Hollywood, Alabama. Graveside services were held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Bradley Creeks Cemetery.

Barbara loved to do anything outdoors. She loved her flowerbeds, gardening, baking and canning what her garden produced. She liked to sit on her front porch with coffee and watch hummingbirds fly by. She loved her little dogs and enjoyed crocheting and bowling. She is a 10-year breast cancer survivor and worked as a nurse for 40 years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Karl Matthews; children, Frances Fann, James Goolsby, Janie Goolsby; grandchildren, Shelby Fann, Jacob Goolsby, Darren Fann, Jackson Goolsby; great-granddaughter on the way; stepchildren, Kevin (Wendy) Matthews, Brenda (Phillip) Hicks; parents, Loyall Pittman, Ellen Pittman; brothers, Terry (Cece) Pittman, Mark (Sherry) Pittman, David Pittman, Steve (Linda) Pittman. She was preceded in death by her eldest brother, George Pittman; niece, Lisa Pittman.
