Amy Marie Ruby, born in Huntsville on Monday, October 2, 1978, began her walk toward her heavenly home and flew with angels to be with loved ones gone before on Sunday, March 27, 2022. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, Georgia.
Amy became a Christian at the young age of 11 and showed her obedience to God when she was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church. She was a gentle soul and loved deeply for family, friends and even strangers, as evidenced by her career choices. She attended elementary school in Scottsboro, attending junior high and high school in Trenton. She continued her education at Georgia State and Chattanooga State, earning an associates in Health Management while pursuing a career in nursing. Amy’s passion was for the less fortunate, working with addicts and alcoholics on their road to becoming recovering addicts; however, the one thing she loved more than life was her son, Noah. She could not wait for grandbabies to come along. She also loved Auburn football, making for a house divided.
She is survived by her sonshine, stink stink carebear son, Noah (Kylee Wilson) Payne; Noah’s father, Matthew Payne; mother and stepfather, Gayle and Walter Rutledge; sister, Kellie (Jody) Hodnett; second parents, Aunt Pat (Bruce) Blankenship; uncles, Kenneth (Gloria) Cooley, Chris Maynor; in-laws, Roy and Dorothy Payne; nephews, Jacob, Justin, Jayden; niece, Savannah; great-niece, Theadora Benton; great-nephew, Ellis Benton; many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and relatives she loved in her very special way. She was preceded in death by her father, David Ruby; maternal grandparents, David Cooley, Mary Maynor; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Hilda Ruby; very special cousin and best friend, Chad Blankenship.
The family requests donations be made to Chattanooga Room In the Inn, 230 North Highland Park Avenue, Chattanooga, Tenn. 37404. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
