Helen Childress Lopes, 78 of Grant, completed her journey here on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Grant Memorial Chapel with burial later next to her mother at Burgess Cemetery.
Born in Alabama to Nathan and Kathleen Childress, Helen was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the War of 1812.
She is survived by her daughters, Tara (Billy) Hallmark, Tonya (Santos) Lopez; grandchildren, Paul (Catherine) Wright, IV, Jakub (Daniela) Lopez, Derek (Jocelyn) Lopez, Brandi Lopez; great-grandchildren, Kleon Lopez, Derek Lopez, II, Ty Lopez. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bronda Hensley.
