William Betts Gibson, born on Saturday, September 15, 1956 to Dr. Thomas and Mrs. Jeri Gibson, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 after a brief illness. As per his wishes, there will be no service of remembrance.
Bill was a proud graduate of Scottsboro High’s Class of 1974 and The University of the South’s class of 1979. He was also a member of the Scottsboro Rotary Club for over 29 years. He developed great friendships with members of these that lasted the rest of his lifetime.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Ann Gibson; children, Katherine Gibson, Thomas Gibson; brother, Thomas Gibson; sister, Jeri Minford; nieces, Cassidy Cobbs, Margaret Gibson, Elizabeth Gibson; nephews, Richard Minford, Mitchell Minford, Reilly Bell; aunt and uncle, Judy and Mike Gaines; cousin, Clay Gaines. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Thomas and Corrine Gibson, William and Margaret Betts; dear friends, Mike Thomas, Ronnie Drummond, David Holland, Bruce Yates.
The family would like to thank his physicians, the staff of the NICU floor at Huntsville Hospital, all who prayed for his recovery and cared for his family during this time. Bill was a faithful member of the Scottsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, if you would like to make a donation in his memory.
