Mr. Roy Frederick Aiken, 74 of Grant, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. A service celebrating his life was held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Grant Memorial Chapel with Rod Edelman officiating. Donna Aiken, Dr. Larry Rosenburg and Sarah Walker also spoke during the service.
Roy, known as Little Ricky, was born on Wednesday, December 10, 1947 in Atlanta to Roy and Emma Aiken. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While serving, he developed an interest in boxing, becoming a boxing enthusiast. After his service, Little Ricky went to work as a salesman with National Linen Service. A lover of family, and his dogs, he will always be remembered as the family comedian, the one who always wore a smile and brought lots of laughter.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Aiken; children, David (Heather) Shipes, Andrea Kilgore; grandchildren, Justin Shipes, Ashley Shipes; uncle Bill Evans; cousins, Rachel and Larry Walker, Sarah Walker, Ellie Largen, Dr. Larry and Kathy Rosenburg; many other cousins, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kristen Aiken.
