Doyle Joe Grizzell, 83, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Rainsville Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Murdoch officiating.
Born on Sunday, August 28, 1938 in Rainsville, Doyle later graduated from Sylvania High in 1945. He later earned a degree in music and a minor in chemistry at Jacksonville State University. Doyle taught AP Physics and Science, coached tennis and football at Dalton High. He was an accomplished musician who played upright bases and trombone with various groups during his life. He attended First Christian Church.
Doyle is survived by his mother, Ardath Grizzell; wife, Eleanor Grizzell; son, Bryan (Maria) Grizzell; daughter, Rebecca (Keith) Moore; sisters, Carolyn Bryant, Joan (Gary) Crye; grandchildren, Gavin Grizzell, Darrell (Jaclyn) Moore, Michael (Crystal) Moore; great-grandchild, Olivia Moore; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hodge Grizzell.
