Johnny Wayne Guffey, 68 of Grant, born on Sunday, October 26, 1952, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021 surrounded by his family after a two-year battle with dementia. Memorial visitations were held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Grant Memorial Chapel.
In December of 1970, Johnny proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam as a machine gunner. He was an avid car enthusiast and always enjoyed the art of a deal. He turned these passions into a business, opening Johnny Guffey Motors in Scottsboro. He was enthusiastic collector of many things, but his most treasured possessions were cards, letters and gifts from friends and family. Johnny truly loved his family.
He is survived by his children, Johnny Guffey, Jr., Josh Guffey, Dusti Geckles; grandchildren, Lane Miotke, Chloe Geckles; siblings, Linda Noblitt, Brenda Madak, Katy Pasuer, Amy Parker, Ricky Guffey; several loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Guffey; mother, Betty Guffey; sister, Wanda Murphree.
