Mr. Kenneth “Myrt” Ray Jarrell, 84 of Scottsboro passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Don Jacobs officiating. Burial followed at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Jarrell retired from the State of Alabama Highway Department. He was instrumental in starting the Scottsboro recreational department where he coached and refereed. Mr. Jarrell was a member of Broad Street Church of Christ and served in the National Guard. He was a member of several local organizations and loved his family, friends and community along with the Atlanta Braves and Alabama football.
He is survived by his son, Charles (Anita Roberts) Jarrell; grandchildren, Daniel (Tracey) Jarrell, Stephen (Kelly) Jarrell, Kenneth (Erica) Jarrell, Jessica (Hunter) Humphrey; 13 great-grandchildren; several nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jarrell; parents, Daniel and Bonnie Jarrell; son, Danny Jarrell; brother, Danny Lee Jarrell.
