Mrs. Ruby Jewel Swafford, 72 of Scottsboro passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Voss and Rev. Pete Hess officiating. Burial followed in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
On Friday, October 1, 1948, God blessed this world with a precious jewel named, Ruby. She was the best daughter, mother, niece, cousin, Nanny, Grand Nan, best friend and sister in Christ. She was a workaholic and always willing to help anyone with anything. She was also a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Mrs. Swafford was loved by many and will be greatly missed by many, including her daughter, Sharon Franks; son, Roy (Sandra) Swafford; grandchildren, Hanna (Justin) Rutherford, Jacqueline Franks, Trey Jones, Casey (John) Norden, Hunter (Jamie) Reaves; great-grandchildren, Beau Rutherford, Cooper Rutherford, Christian Franks, Samuel Knopps, Charlie Norden, Josey Norden, Cade Norden, John Reaves; brother-in-law, Tom (Doris) Swafford; special niece, Brenda Swafford; special cousin, Della Hall; special friend and neighbor, Robert and Linda O’Neal; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Swafford; son-in-law, Jackie Franks; parents, Pomp and Annie Guthrie.
