Gerald Thomas Jones, Sr., born on Tuesday, January 11, 1938 passed from this life on Monday, August 23, 2021 at his home in Grant. Graveside services were held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Panquin Cemetery.
Mr. Jones spent his career in road construction. He began as an oiler for Ashburn and Gray in September of 1957 and retired as General Superintendent more than 40 years later. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, playing golf and working with Mary in their garden and flowers.
He is survived by his sons, Tom (Cherry), Anthony (Tammy); grandchildren, Emily (Cole) Chancey, Ellen (Dylan) Addis, Andrew (Christina) Jones, Amy (Brody) Campbell, Toni (Pat) Davis, Austin (Taylor) Jones, Michael (Lauren) Jones, Easton Jones; great-grandchildren, Hudson Chancey, Henry Chancey, Emma Addis, Avaleigh Jones, Amelia Jones, Aubrey Jones, Liam Davis, Logan Davis, Braden Jones, Atkinsyn Jones, Penelope Jones, Eleanor Jones, Julianna Jones, and due September, Ryker Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Jones.
