George Madison Atchley, 85 of Stevenson passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens with Bro. Ronnie Day and Bro. Dale Haynes officiating.
George was a retired electrician for Avondale Mills and Shaw Industries after 42 years of service. He was also a member of the Roaches Cove Baptist Church for over 45 years and served as a deacon since 1982.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ola Atchley; son, Raymond (Alice) Atchley; grandchildren, Lauren (Justin) Lackey, Nicholas (Lauren) Atchley, Nicole (Shawn) Curtis; great-grandchildren, Hudson Curtis, Isaac lackey, Emma Lackey, Olivia Atchley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Roaches Cove Baptist Church, 1000 County Road 55, Fackler, Ala. 35746.
