Mr. Ricky Glen Barnes, 62 of Grant, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Bro. Joe Teal, Ricky’s former high school basketball coach and principal, officiated. Burial followed at Free Home Cemetery.
Ricky was born May 25, 1959 to Don Earl Barnes and Rosie Stubblefield Barnes. A lifelong resident of Grant, he married his high school sweetheart, Ann, on September 9, 1977.
After graduating from DAR School he began an almost 20-year career at Teledyne in Grant. In 1995, he joined his father and brothers as they began Show Car Products in Grant. He worked there until his health began to fail in 2015.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Ann Chandler Barnes; sons, John (Ann Marie) Barnes and Ben (Courtney) Barnes; grandchildren, Ansley Kate Barnes and Jay Chandler Barnes; brothers, Randy (Kim) Barnes and Rodney (Debbie) Barnes; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don Earl Barnes and Rosie Stubblefield Barnes.
Active Pallbearers were Jamie Barnes, Daren Barnes, Stacy Stubblefield, Keith Bellomy, Brandon Stubblefield, Kevin Stubblefield, Jeffery Stubblefield and Jason Maples. Honorary Pallbearers were Royce Edmonds, Jason Edmonds, Danny Clark, Bruce Keller, Mike Stubblefield, Patrick Tucker and Kenneth Taylor.
