Georgia Golden Duvall, 81 of Grant passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 after a long illness. Graveside services were held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Georgia was born in Huntsville on Thursday, August 10, 1939 to the late Jessie Morgan and Leedie Golden. She was also a member of Welcome Home Holiness Church. She showed her love for family and friends with delicious home cooked meals, expertly sewn clothing and the best cakes, pies and puddings you’ve ever tasted. She laughed often, gave her husband a run for his money and made sure her children and grandchildren knew how much they were loved with a mixture of hugs, kisses and a laissez-faire attitude toward the four food groups. She could fix anything with ingenuity and a little bit of super glue. Even in the moments preceding her passing, she thought of others and their comfort before her own.
She is survived by her children, Connie (Lem) Vaughan, Chris (Zan Edmonds) Duvall, Kelly (Greg) Lawson; seven grandchildren; brother, James Golden; sister, Lavern Knight; many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirwell Duvall, the love of her life; siblings, Alice Morrow, Natalie Guffey, Johnny Golden, Jessie Golden, Jr.
