Mr. James Leon Travis, Sr., born on Wednesday, April 7, 1937, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2021 in his home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Donna King officiating. Burial followed at Travis Cemetery.
Born to James and Veda Bell Travis, he was a retired Air Force veteran with over 20 years of service and served in the Vietnam War. He also worked and retired from Mead and enjoyed working and piddling around his farm at Skyline, watching westerns and watching the news.
He is survived by his sons, Randy Travis, Kenneth (Mary) Travis; grandchildren, Jeffrey Whitley, Samantha (Dusty) Travis-Wilson, Jamie (Jeremy) Batey, Justin (Kara) Travis, Jennifer (Jesse) Hernandez; brother, Lawrence Travis; great-grandchildren, Milee, Xander, Stella, Olivia, Emma, Bennett, Mason. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Patricia Sue Travis; parents; children, James Travis, Jr., Tina Travis Gervais; granddaughter, Melissa Travis
