Anna Ruth Gant Hitchcock passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, March 27, 2021 on the farm land upon which she was born, with her two surviving children by her side. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with burial following at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Ruth was the last surviving child of Carrie Tipton Gant and George Washington Gant.
She is survived by her son, George (Linda) Hitchcock; daughter, Amy Hitchcock; granddaughters, April (Jon) Oxford, Heather Hancock; great-grandchildren, Shaniya Oxford, Desiree Oxford, Audrey Hancock, Perry Oxford, Wesley Hancock, Landon Hancock, Emmett Hancock; sister-in-law, Ann (Bobby) Gant; dear friend, like a sister, Barbara Berger.
