Mrs. Joy Burks Stephens, 80 of Grant passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Grant Memorial Chapel with Rev. Anthony Barnes officiating. Burial followed in Free Home Cemetery.
Joy was born on Sunday, January 5, 1941 in Marshall County to Henry L. and Daisy Selby Burks. She truly enjoyed her career, spending 18 years with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department before she retired.
She is survived by her sister, Judy (Colin) Barnes; special nephew, Dennis (Elaine) Summers; many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ray Burks, Elizabeth Bunch, Beulah Summers, Mary Ruth Burks, Helen Lois Burks, Jewel Marie Burks.
