Mrs. Ruth Tilley Patterson, 92 of Sylvania entered her heavenly home on Monday, February 1, 2021. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Mountain View Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Patterson was born on Monday, January 28, 1929. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who spent her entire life in service to others. She had a long career as a nurse, retiring at the age of 80. Mrs. Patterson was a devout Christian and a member of Chavies Baptist Church. She was known in her community as a wonderful cook, avid gardener and loyal friend.
She is survived by her daughters, Aletha (Steve) Bowen, Laura (Eddie) Houk; grandchildren she adored, Price (Jessica) Lawrence, Madison (Kayla) Bowen, Landry Bowen, Clay Houk, Anna (Forrest) Ford; great-granddaughters, Litton and Ann Collins Ford; sister, Dallyne Jones; brothers, Glenn (Anna) Tilley, Joe (Jewell) Tilley; a host of nieces and nephews she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Luther Patterson; parents, Dallas and Minnie Tilley; brothers, Clyde, LaVance, Johnny Tilley.
The family would like to thank Heartlite Hospice and Mrs. Patterson’s wonderful caregivers, Cherie Gray, Marsha Dennis, Freda Waters, Debra Haynes.
