Mary Veda Arnold, 95, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend to many and faithful follower of Jesus Christ went home on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Bishop Matt Beaty officiating. Burial followed at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Veda was a longtime resident of Scottsboro. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she served as treasurer, custodian, choir member during the 53 years she attended there. She loved Jesus above all and gave all the glory to God for the good things in her life. Even in times of pain and hardship, she never lost her faith or gratitude. She left behind a legacy of faithfulness and kindness to others. She will forever be missed in the hearts and lives of the countless people she touched in her 95 years on Earth.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Susan (Ben) Balducci, Jana Johnson; great-granddaughter, Mary Gracelyn Balducci; nieces, Ann (Ken) Looney, Rhonda Hess, Beth (Byron) Jones, Vickie (Danny) Leak; nephews, Terry (Frieda) Hess, Donnie (Della) Hess, Gene (Shay) Holder, Larry Holder, Randall (Gwen) Holder. She was greeted at heaven’s gate by those who preceded her: husband, Bill Arnold; daughter, Judy Arnold Evans; mother, Cora Garner; father, Walker Garner; sisters, Geraldine Hess, Ruth Womack, Rena Holder; brother, G.W. Garner; niece, Billie Quinn; nephews, Kenneth Hess, C.W. Garner, Jimmy Garner
