Donna Gail Cain Lambert, 73 of Bridgeport passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Rudder’s Funeral Home in Bridgeport with interment following at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Donna was born on Sunday, April 6, 1947 in Kentucky to Claude and Mildred Cain. One of 10 children, she met James D. Lambert after moving to Bridgeport in the 1950s. She and James married in 1964 and had seven children.
Donna first worked at Salem Carpet Mills. Later she served as a dispatcher at South Pittsburg, Marion County and Bridgeport police departments. She also worked part time as a DJ and at the local Headstart and schools. Donna loved going to yard sales on the weekends and spending time with her family. She enjoyed concerts and family vacations to Kentucky.
She is survived by her sons, James Dennis Lambert, Jr., Steven R. Lambert; daughters, Vanessa (Garland) Tipton, Stephanie Lambert, Valerie (Raymond) Hayes, Shannon (Joe) Mullins, Erin Lambert; brothers, Garry (Barbara) Cain, Jerry (Sherry) Cain; sisters, Claudia Cain Smith, Noel Cain; a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren; other in-laws. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James Lambert; parents, Claude and Mildred Cain; brothers, Bobby, Ronnie, Randy, Larry, Billy Cain; granddaughter, Betty E. Beja; great-grandsons, Hayden Dillard, Edward Hayes; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Kirk Lambert; brother-in-law, Wilber Smith; granddaughter-in-law, Sabrina Moore Hayes.
