William “Bill” Fletcher Capley, 72 of Scottsboro went home to be with his savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
His early years were spent in Pulaski and Florence. Upon graduation from the University of Alabama in 1971 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Bill went to work with TVA. He worked at both the Browns Ferry and Bellefonte nuclear plants until 1988, when he left TVA and went to work as a civilian with the Army Missile Command in Huntsville. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved his church and his church family. He enjoyed maintaining the repairs needed around the church and just sitting and spending time with the staff members. He spent many hours and days helping his fellow man through projects with Disaster Relief, Carpenters for Christ and Equip Us.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Judy Capley; daughters, Jana (Billy) Potterfield, Natalie (Wade) Brooks, Corrie (Scott) Shelton; grandchildren, Tanner Potterfield, Madeline Brooks, Caroline Potterfield, Anna Claire Shelton, Katie Brooks, John Will Potterfield, Abigail Shelton, Austyn Shelton; a number of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Edith Capley; sister, Judy Payne.

Bill was a devoted husband, daddy, Papa and friend. He will be greatly missed.
