Ms. Faris DeBerry, 89 of Rainsville passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at her residence. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Shawn Sims officiating.
Faris was originally from near Piedmont. She raised four children while living and working on the farm with their father, Austin. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker for her family. Faris was also a member of Mt. Olive Methodist for most of her life. In her later years, she worked as a nursing caregiver, providing care for many elderly and handicapped people in their homes. Although she was homebound for several years prior to her death, she never lost her smile and happy heart. Everyone who knew her came under her prayers and was told of her love for Jesus.
She is survived by her son, Darrell (Kathy) DeBerry; daughter, Dianne (Paul Coggins) Pierce, Rebecca (John Collins) Selvage; sisters, DeWanda (Edward) Kelley, Bobbie (Leo) Woods; grandchildren, Chad Gannon, Josh DeBerry, Jerry DeBerry, Justin DeBerry, Brian DeBerry; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Brooklynn, Jonas, Lillian, Mat, Max, Toby; great-great-grandchildren, Connor and Madison. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa DeBerry; parents, Richard Filo and Myrtle King; brothers, T.J. King, Horace King, Barney King, R.P. King; sisters, Helen Wilkerson; grandson, Terry Bishop.
