Samuel Auther McAllister, 81 passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Pleasant Groves Holiness Church with Rev. Shirley Byrum and James Carl Black officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Groves Cemetery.
Auther was born to the late Carl and Edith McAllister on Saturday, January 28, 1939. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God sustained him all of his life. Auther worked at the United States Postal Service for almost 35 years. His most beloved work was serving as pastor of Pleasant Groves Holiness Church. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Carden McAllister; sons, Mike (Susie) McAllister, Clint (Sharon) McAllister; daughters, Connie (Dale) Parker, Vickie (Steven) Law; grandchildren, Darryl (Delana) McAllister, Megan (Brandon) Green, Jessica (Bo) Guffey, Mason (Melody) McAllister, Mallory (Donavan) Lawson, Brennan (Tristan) Culver, Kaitlyn Brewer; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ellen Barracks, Jewel McAllister, Annie Ruth Brewer, Ruby McAllister, Judy Brewer, Thelma McAllister. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Odie McAllister, Curtis McAllister, Raymond McAllister; sister, Katie Ramsey.
