Staci Hairston Youngkin, loving mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend to many passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 14, 2020, following a courageous three-year battle with colon cancer. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in the Section Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Little officiating. Burial followed in New Canaan Cemetery.
Staci was born on Saturday, April 27, 1968 to Peggy Brown Hairston and James D. Hairston. Although she entered the world weighing less than three pounds, she had a spirit within herself to thrive. A 1986 graduate of Section High School, Staci went on to receive her Bachelor’s from the University of Alabama. Later, she married Matt Youngkin, and they welcomed Cole Michael Youngkin six years later. While Staci was artistic and loved design, she found her calling in the medical community where she worked for 20 plus years. Her pride and joy was her son, Cole. She enjoyed supporting him at his football games, especially the band concerts. She also loved spending time at the beach and shopping. She treasured her friends and enjoyed dining with them at great restaurants.
Staci is survived by her son, Cole Youngkin; father, James D. (Kathy) Hairston; mother, Peggy Brown (Herb) Locklear; brothers, Scottie Hairston, Damon Locklear; nephews, Triston Hairston, Dravon Locklear; niece, Peyton Hairston; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and special friends.
The family gives a heartfelt thank you to Staci’s coworkers and friends. Thanks also goes to Comfort Care Hospice for loving and caring for Staci.
