Mary Evelyn “Sally” Grider, 82 of Scottsboro, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga following a brief illness. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the chapel in Rudder Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Johnson and Bro. Joe David Moore officiating. Burial followed in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
Sally, as she was known by family and friends, worked at Benham Mills in Scottsboro for many years, and she and her husband, W.C., also ran a fish market.
Sally is survived by her son, John (Donna) Grider; grandchildren, Harley Grider, Ryan Grider; sisters, Beuna Jernigan, Clara Guinn, Albert Truckey, Elizabeth Truckey, Bill Truckey; brother, John Daniel and Lek; special sons, David Daniel, Jane Upton, Tommy Upton, Trina; several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Grider; son, Charlie Franklin Grider; parents, John Elijah and Margaret Elizabeth Daniel; sisters, Evone Holt, Willie Batey; brothers, Frank Daniel and Jap Daniel.
