James Garland Tipton, Sr., 83 of Scottsboro passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Funeral services were held Friday, July 17, 2020 at Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Scottsboro with burial following in Gant Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Tipton; children, Annette Howell, Pam (Doyle) York, Garland (Vanessa) Tipton, Phillip (Wenda) Mount, Tim (Abby) Mount; grandchildren, Christopher, Renea, Devin, Haley, J.R., Chrystal, Justin, Christy, Nick, Tyler, Erin; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Wilson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lizzy Tipton; grandson, Steven Howell, Jr., brother, Robert Tipton; sisters, Pearlie Owens, Viola Smith, Mary McKee, Jewell McAbee.
