Kim Killen was recently presented with a certificate recognizing the 25 years she has served the state of Alabama as a dedicated public servant in the Jackson County Circuit Clerk’s office. Kim has been an employee there since 1996.
Jackson County Circuit Clerk Bart Buchanan presented the certificate to Killen and stated, “Kim is one of my supervisors over civil division. She is great with the public, and she cares about her coworkers. As a leader and an elected official, you want to be surrounded by the best, and Kim is one of the best at what she does.”
From the Alabama Unified Judicial System, Certificate of Service presented to Kimberly W. Killen: “In recognition and appreciation for 25 years of loyal and dedicated services to the State of Alabama and the Alabama Unified Judicial System. Thank you for all you do for the citizens of the State of Alabama. Signed: Tom Parker/Chief Justice; Rich Hobson/Administrative Director of Courts; Bart Buchanan/Jackson County Circuit Court Clerk.”
Jackson County Court Specialist IV and Chief Clerk, Connie McLain stated, “Kim and I have always worked together for years, and we’ve never had the first problem. She’s always helping someone. She goes above and beyond. People she doesn’t even know come back to thank her for how she helped them. They send her Christmas cards, they bring her fruit and vegetables. She’s had people drive in from Georgia to say thank you. There’s no one a bigger helper than Kim Killen. You can depend on her.”
As for Killen, who plans on giving the state a few more years before retiring to her favorite fishing spot, she states, “I’ve enjoyed this time. I like people, never met a stranger. If the time I spend with each person affected my work, I would do something about it, but I’m customer service. That’s what I do.”
