UGF hold’s annual kick off meeting

The United Givers Fund of Jackson County and the Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce co-hosted the UGF’s Annual Kick-off and membership meeting last week.
United Giver’s fund President Daniel Colon began by stating that this year’s goal will be to reach over $100,000. Last year the UGF raised a little over $86,000, just shy of their $100,000 goal.

The Jackson County United Giver’s Fund is a nonprofit organization, that raises money each year. Each dollar raised is distributed to multiple programs within Jackson County.

The programs supported by UGF include the Jackson County Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Ben Sanford Center Boys and Girls Club, Care Assurance System for the Aging and Homebound (CASA), Christmas Charities, Crisis Services of North Alabama, Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama, Greater Alabama Council Boy Scouts of America, the IMPACT Learning Center, Jackson 4-H Club, The ARC of Jackson County, Life Resource Services, Northeast Alabama Health Services and the Michael Scott Learning Center.

It was announced during the meeting that the UGF will host their 2nd annual Pickleball tournament on April 12. An added Sunday tournament will be included for high school aged players.
