Rev. Roy “Edward” Harbin, age 79 of Paint Rock Valley, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Mark Schuelke officiated. Interment followed in the Flanagan Cemetery.
Mr. Harbin is survived by his wife, Cherry Frazier Harbin; daughter, Melody (Darryl) Washburn; son, Timothy Harbin; grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Grey and Ashley (Dallis) Johnson; sisters, Erma Askew and Annie Mae Jones; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Harbin was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Harbin; mother, Nellie Houk Harbin; and brothers, Roy “Kenneth” Harbin, Billy “Bill” Harbin, Lester “Eugene” Harbin, and James “David” Harbin.
Edward loved the Lord and served Him as a lead pastor for over fifty years, including seven years at Trenton Baptist Church and forty-six years with Mount Ararat Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, beloved father, grandfather “Pop”, and friend, who will be missed dearly by all.
