A passionate outdoors man, John had a deep appreciation for nature in all its forms. He spent his life hunting, fishing, and caring for the animals he loved. He raised boxer bulldogs and kept a small farm filled with goats, burros, an aviary of interesting birds, and a turkey named Bob. His property was a testament to his love for nature, featuring a variety of rare trees and bushes that he carefully selected and cultivated over the years.
John had a mechanically gifted mind. In his early years, he worked as an auto mechanic, owned a mobile home repair company and worked at Mead Paper Company before beginning a career at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma as an Operator Engineer. In his spare time, he continued working with his hands rebuilding cars, woodworking, and fixing anything and everything. He and his wife, Stormy, also owned a handmade jewelry business together.
John will be remembered for his great sense of humor, dependability, and love. He was an adoring husband and doting grandfather. He was an active member of New Hope Global Methodist Church.
John’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the friends and family who are here today, and the natural beauty he nurtured.
