Downtown Scottsboro is excited to announce the ground breaking of its highly anticipated pocket park, a green sanctuary set to enhance the heart of thriving downtown.
The ceremony will take place on February 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the empty lot on East Peachtree Street, between Safety First and Berkshire Hathaway, and is open to the public.
This exciting project, led by Downtown Scottsboro, is part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to beautify and revitalize the historic downtown district. Featuring a state-of-the-art stage, sound system, seating and more, the pocket park will serve as a vibrant gathering space for the community and a hub for live entertainment, events and social connection.
“This pocket park embodies our vision for Downtown Scottsboro — a vibrant, inviting space where people can gather, connect and enjoy everything our historic district has to offer,” said Julia Whitehead, Executive Director of Downtown Scottsboro. “It’s a wonderful addition that will serve our community for years to come.”
Downtown Scottsboro, a designated Main Street Alabama community, is dedicated to preserving the city’s historic charm while promoting economic growth, beautification and community engagement. Through initiatives like this, Downtown Scottsboro continues to make the district a welcoming find for residents and visitors alike.
The public is encouraged to attend the ground breaking ceremony and witness the beginning of this transformative project. For more information, please contact mainstreetscottsboro@gmail.com.
