Free Feral Hog Workshop to be held

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System of Jackson County will be conducting a Feral Hog and Wildlife Management Workshop on Thursday, February 27th from 8:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Goose Pond Colony Resort, located at 417 Ed Hembree Dr. in Scottsboro.
This event will provide an overview of feral hog biology, damage impact, control methods, as well as an on-site trapping demonstration. Wild turkey and white-tailed deer management and habitat will also be presented. Any landowners or managers that are experiencing feral hog damage or are interested in learning more about their impacts and control or looking are to improve their management towards turkey and deer are encouraged to attend.

Attendance is free, but participants must pre-register. Registration includes a seat at the seminars and field demonstration, lunch, and printed presentation materials and related publications. Foresters and loggers may receive 5.5 category 1 continuing education credits by attending.
