Winnyfred Nicolitz Davis, age 85, passed away on November 9, 2024. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 15, 2024 from the Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Minister Billy Watkins officiated. Interment followed in the Walker Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Jimmy Davis; her daughter Jeanne (Mike) Walker two grandsons Matthew (Regina) and Davis (Amelia); three great grandchildren, Emery, Johnny, and Gideon; siblings, Ernst (Liz) Nicolitz, Eric Nicolitz, Marcel (Sheila) Nicolitz, Wanda (Bill) Mattice; and a good number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Nicolitz and Augustine Nicolitz; and brothers, Rino and Roland (Fina).
She was a member of the Kimball Church of Christ.
Jim and Winny lived most of their married life in El Paso, Texas where Jimmy was a schoolteacher and Winny worked in the school cafeteria. Winny loved to laugh, shop, and enjoy her family. She was happiest being close with her great-grandchildren. Cooking for family was one of her passions. She was also an avid seamstress making clothes and dolls for herself and her family and community. For the past year and a half, Jimmy and Winny had been residents of Bridgeport, Alabama so as to be closer to their daughter and great- grandchildren.
