Born on July 26, 1946, Tom spent his early years in eastern Tennessee, before his family ultimately settled in Jackson County, Alabama. He attended Scottsboro High School, enrolled at the University of North Alabama on an ROTC scholarship, and served as an officer in the US Army both overseas and domestically. After finishing his Army service and returning home, Tom met the love of his life and future wife, Linda (Richardson). Tom’s second career in government contract administration took he and his family to Huntsville, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
Tom was a dedicated, loving husband and father who prioritized his family above all else. Tom enjoyed his cherished wife Linda, the connection with his siblings, spending time with his grandchildren, the fellowship of church and rooting for the Tennessee Volunteers.
The church was an important part of he and Linda’s life together. Tom was a humble, steadfast, and devoted servant to God whose faith only strengthened as cared for Linda during her prolonged illness and early death. He had a kind heart and caring nature which he expressed through his deeds rather than words.
