What seems to have been one of the longest election advertising seasons ever will soon end. No matter what “side” you’re on, November 5 has been long awaited.
On November 5, 2024 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. voters across the country will have the chance to vote for several offices.
Jackson County voters will have three Democratic options in the races of President of the United States, Supreme Court Chief and Jackson County Circuit Judge; nineteen Republican options and four Independent options.
Those on the ballot will include:

Kennedy, Jr. and Nicole Shanahan; Independents Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat and Independents Jill Stein and Samson Kpadenou; For United States 5th Congressional District Representative: Republican Dale Strong; For Ala. Supreme Court Chief Justice: Democrat Greg Griffin or Republican Sarah Stewart; For Place 1 Associate Justice of Ala. Supreme Court: Republican Chris McCool; For Place 2 Associate Justice of Ala. Supreme Court: Republican Tommy Bryan; For Place 3 Associate Justice of Ala. Supreme Court: Republican Will Sellers; For Place 4 Associate Justice of Ala. Supreme Court: Republican Jay Mitchell; For Place 1 Ala. Court of Civil Appeals Judge: Republican Christy Edwards; For Place 2 Ala. One local amendment will also be on the ballot relating to Jackson County, proposing a change to the Constitution of Alabama to authorize mayors of municipalities in Jackson County to participate in the Alabama Employee Retirement System under the same terms and conditions as other employees in the same retirement system.
