Terry Thomas recently announced his intent to run for Scottsboro City Council, Place 2.
Thomas’ announcement states, “My name is Terry Thomas. I am married to Cheryl Ann Thomas and together we have five children, and seven grandchildren.
I have worked as a volunteer coach with the Scottsboro Parks and Recreation for 12 years. I also served as a Scottsboro City Council Member from 2006-2010. While serving on the council, I assisted in the creation of the Scottsboro Commercial Development Board to bring retail and to assist established businesses in making Scottsboro a better place. We passed funding for the new Scottsboro Police Department and Jail complex, completed Scottsboro City Hall, Scottsboro Senior Center, Bynum Soccer and Tennis Complex, and various other projects, while remaining in budget.
When elected, I will make myself available to everyone and promise to be a good steward of their tax dollars. I will continue to work for the betterment of Scottsboro by working with the current council and mayor for the continued recruitment of much needed jobs, affordable housing, improvement of our city streets, and areas of this city that beg attention to make Scottsboro a greater place to live, work and play.
I humbly ask for your support and vote.”
