VFW & American Legion to host Memorial Day Program

VFW post 6073 and American Legion Post 30 are hosting the Scottsboro/Jackson County Memorial Day Program and activities Monday, May 27th.
The community is cordially invited to join in honoring our fallen heroes on Memorial Day. There will be multiple programs beginning with a wreath laying ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park of Jackson County. The ceremony will pay tribute to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Immediately following the wreath laying ceremony, light refreshments will be available at the American Legion and VFW Post Home. This will provide an opportunity for community members to connect and share stories about the heroes we are honoring.

At 10:45 a.m., a Memorial Day Program will be held in the auditorium at Collins Elementary School located at 102 Legion Drive in Scottsboro. The Scottsboro Community Band will begin performing at 10:45 a.m. with the program beginning at 11 a.m.

The VFW and American Legion are excited to have Lieutenant General Robert A. Rasch, Jr., Director of Hypersonic, Directed Energy, Space and Rapid Acquisition, as our guest speaker.
Please join them as they honor those that have sacrificed to protect our freedom.
