Kenneth Dewayne Fortner, age 68 of Flat Rock, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024. Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from the Higdon Free Holiness Church. Reverend Edwin Spurgeon and Reverend Michael Clark officiated. Interment followed in the Oak Lawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Fortner is survived by his wife, Jennifer Faye Harris Fortner; children, Samantha (Jason) Michaels, Sabrina (David) Gilbert, Serena (Josh) Holcomb; grandchildren, Katrina (Jordan) Slay, Kaylie Michaels, Mahaylie (Corey) Chance, Makenna Gilbert, Nataleigh Holcomb, Zeke Holcomb, Dawson Gilbert, Owen Gilbert; great grandson, Lincoln Chance; brother and sisters in law, James (Judy) Fortner, Ray (Sherry) Fortner, Barry (Kelli) Fortner; sister and brother in law, Charity (Chris) Lowrance; brother in law, Doug (Faye) Reeves; as well as several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Fortner was preceded in death by his father, James Aubrey Fortner; mother, Mattie Mae Lovvorn Fortner; maternal grandparents, Ephraim Riley Lovvorn and Cora Small Lovvorn; and paternal grandparents, James Harley Fortner and Bernie Mae Gibson Fortner.
