Huey restoration complete

The Huey helicopter obtained by the Veterans Memorial Park and transported to Scottsboro in December, 2022 has now been restored. The Huey restoration team held their first workday on January 27, 2023.

Throughout the ten month restoration process the helicopter has undergone a complete makeover. Among other things, the helicopter was cleaned and sanded on the inside and out, had the seating and interior insulation restored, has been repainted and has had a main rotor replaced.

The Huey was moved to its final resting place at the Veteran’s Memorial Park, where it sits directly in front of the Cobra.

The restoration team would like to thank the Scottsboro Electric Power board for providing the truck crane and Meteor Express for providing the low boy to move the helicopter.
