Mary Nell Black Cox, age 91 of Pisgah, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2026. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 28, 2023 from the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. David Smith officiated. Interment followed in the New Home Cemetery.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her sons, Timothy L. (April) Cox, Thomas E. (Eddie) Cox, Jr.; daughter, Kimberley (Joe) Thornhill; sister, Polly (James) Gant; grandchildren, Cole (Amanda) Thornhill, Cyndle (Bennett) Browder, Tyler Cox and Tyanna Gracemarie Cox; and great grandchildren, Kailon Thornhill, Brevan Thornhill and Taven Thornhill.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her spouse, Thomas Edward Cox; father, Alton Black; mother, Ermine Tullis; and sisters, Nina Mae (Charles) Cox and Flora Ann (Horace “Buddy”) Owens.
